What we want as a person in a relationship varies, everyone wants to be treated as special which is the right thing to do.
Nevertheless, some do not know how to treat their partners in ways that says “I Value you” . They want to be treated nicely but do not know how to reciprocate the same and it makes their partner feel worthless, demoralizes them.
Valuing your partner is an important aspect of any healthy and loving relationship. It means recognizing and respecting their worth as an individual, and treating them with kindness, compassion, and understanding. Here are a few ways you can show your partner that you value them:
Take the time to thank your partner for their contributions to your relationship and life. Let them know how much you appreciate them and all that they do for you, no matter how insignificant it is that they do.
When you're with your partner, make an effort to really listen to them and be fully present in the moment. This means putting aside distractions and giving them your undivided attention.
Make an effort to be open and honest with your partner, and listen to what they have to say in return. Don’t shit them off because you feel you know best or you are much older. Wisdom can come from anyone.
Support their goals and aspirations. Encourage your partner to pursue their dreams and aspirations not haunting theirs for you to achieve yours, and offer support and encouragement along the way. This could be anything from helping them study for a big exam to offering encouragement and support as they pursue a new career.
Make time for each other. In today's busy world, it's easy for time to slip away from us. Make sure to carve out time for your partner, whether it's a weekly date night or simply setting aside a few minutes each day to talk and connect.
Valuing your partner means showing them that you care about them and their well-being. It's about making an effort to show them that you want them to shine as well, and be there for them in good times and bad.
